How to Select a Bra that Fits

How to Select a Bra that Fits All women lose firmness as we get older, and so do our bras. When you buy a bra, try to make sure it fits you in the loosest hook. That way you can tighten the bra to the second and third hooks as it ages and still get the firmness and the lift. Ideally, your breasts/breast forms should be midway between your shoulders and your elbows. Your bra should be level from front to back. Most women wear their bra bands too high on their torsos and this throws the fit off. Another frequent mistake is to increase the band size, instead of getting a deeper cup. Post Mastectomy - How to Measure for a Proper Fit Proper Bra Size: Place tape measure under breast from center of breastbone in front to center of spine in back. Double the measurement and add 5 inches. This is your bra size. Example: If under breast measurement (center front to center back) is 14 1/2 inches, double it (14 1/2 x 2 = 29 inches). Add 5 inches. Your bra size would be 34 inches. Note: if total is an odd number (35 for example) select the next larger size (for 35, buy 36). Proper Cup Size: Measure over fullest part of remaining breast from center breastbone in front to center of spine in back. Double the number. If measurement is the same as the bra size determined above, or up to 1 inch more, order A cup; if 2 to 3 inches more, order B cup; if 3 to 4 inches more, order C cup; if 4 to 5 inches more, order D cup; if 5 to 6 inches more, order DD cup. Cup Size for Double Mastectomy: Cup size is the same as that worn prior to surgery. If you want to be larger o...
